At FBC Blum, we strive to create the family atmosphere that Christ intended for His church; and like most good families, we like to get together for great times and sometimes reminisce about them too!

5th Sunday Meal

At FBC Blum, we enjoy a great time of Food & Fellowship every “5th Sunday” just after Sunday Morning Worship Service with a Pot Luck meal in our Family Life Center Building (FLC).  We have our 5th Sunday Lunch each month when there are 5 Sundays in that month, on the 5th Sunday!  EVERYONE is welcomed to join us, and the food is always fantastic!

VBS 2018

GEAR UP, GET READY, GAME ON!

VBS 2018 at FBC Blum is June 18-21st, 6-8:30pm

FBC Blum is pleased to host Vacation Bible School June 18-21st with the theme

“GAME ON!  Gear Up for Life’s Big Game!”

Gear Up for Life’s Big Game

During our VBS program, we invite your kids to (metaphorically) grab their megaphones, lace up their cleats, and tune up their instruments. As they fill up the offensive line, sideline, and drum line, your players, cheerleaders, and band members will realize that God has given them His ultimate playbook. He wants them to join His team, train hard, celebrate salvation, and encourage one another. Get in the spirit today with Game On VBS.

Theme Verse

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

Motto

Gear up! Get Ready! Game on!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2016

VBS_Submerged

We were so happy for everyone who came for Vacation Bible School!!!

VBS participants engaged in an underwater theme of SUBMERGED the week of  June 27th – July 1st

“SUBMERGED” – FINDING TRUTH BELOW THE SURFACE

For all of our Deep Sea Adventurers who attended VBS and LOVED Miss Patty & Miss Brandy leading us in the moves to all of the FUN SONGS, below should be links to YouTube videos of those SAME GREAT SONGS with the movements!  These leaders may be as fun as Miss Patty & Miss Brandy, but they still do a great job!  Have Fun!

Submerged – https://youtu.be/yXsonX0QJtg

I am remarkably made – https://youtu.be/gvJbsa8vFmo

You know me – https://youtu.be/KqRbZr4dMxs

Bubbling up – https://youtu.be/F2NNhQQ9G74

As kids were submerged in God’s Word, they discovered that Jesus saw people differently. He saw people for who they were deep down, not who they appeared to be on the surface. Kids looked below the surface to find the truth about how Jesus sees them!  Because, as our VBS Motto said and is always true:

JESUS SEES, JESUS KNOWS, JESUS SAVES!

Country gospel band Down Home Praise  on April 3rd at 11am!

And following this great time of praise through music, we invite everyone to enjoy a wonderful meal and time of fellowship!

Either one of these events is grand, and combined they are certainly an event not to be missed!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2015

camp-kilimanjaro-logoWe had a wonderful time July  6-10th for VBS and we were so blessed by the mission team from Trinity Baptist Church of Jonesboro, TN to lead and go above & beyond with partnering with FBC Blum for VBS this year. The kids loved the Mount Kilimanjaro theme and grouping with their “animal” group!  We had a great turnout, we pray that the seeds of God’s word were planted in each child’s heart and will continue to grow, and we glorify God that one child placed her faith in Jesus Christ for salvation!

During our VBS Camp Kilimanjaro,  we had an epic expedition through the book of Proverbs!  We learned that every day, we are faced with choices—will we choose wisely or foolishly? As we trekked up Mount Kilimanjaro, we learned that true wisdom comes only from the one true all-wise God, who wants us to be wise! And He’s filled the book of Proverbs with wise sayings for us! As we studied Proverbs, we learned to have:

– ears that hear and do the Word of God;
– hearts that trust in the Lord;
– tongues that are tame;
– hands that get to work;
– feet that walk with the wise!

YOUTH EVENTS WEEK

image

During evenings on the same week as VBS, we also held daily events and bible discussions for our youth students. The teens had a blast and the adults that work with youth had almost as much fun just watching!!!

Integrated with the youth from the Trinity Baptist Mission Group, all teens quickly became close friends and tried to out score fellow groups that were formed on the first night:  team “Winners”, team “Cavemen”, and team “Dangerous Crocodiles”.  I know it was an experience they won’t forget!

The Easter Series_Pic

At this time of Easter, we will begin a five-sermon series starting 3/22/15 that focuses on our most precious holiday as Christians!

We celebrate Easter as commemorating the death of Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty for our sin as believers, and His Resurrection and to ascend and be with Father God in Heaven, and that he went to prepare a place for us there also!  How great it is to celebrate Easter!

The first sermon in this series is entitled “What’s your verdict” as we review Luke 22:47 – 23:25.

As we continue our sermon series about Easter – the death and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ – our 2nd sermon in this series falls on Palm Sunday, 3/29/15. This week our topic during worship time is “Words of Anguish”, scripture passages Mark 15: 33-36 & John 19: 28-30.

This Sunday, 4/5/15 is Easter Sunday, and we continue our Easter Sermon Series this week with “Words of Life”, Luke 24:1-6. Come celebrate the Resurrected Life of Jesus Christ with us this Sunday; Worship Services are at 11am with Bible Classes for all ages beginning at 10am!
Praise God that we worship a Savior who was raised to life and is interceding for us!!! (Rom 8:34)

This Sunday, 4/12/15, we continue in our Easter sermon series reviewing  Luke 24:13-35, “On the Road with Him”.

This Sunday, 4/19, we finish our Easter sermon series with “It’s Not the End- It’s Just the Beginning” reading from Luke 24:36-53. We hope to see everyone there as we round out this great series!

OTHER RECENT SERMON TITLES & SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

Our sermon title this week (4/29/15) is “Jailhouse Rock” and it might remind you of the “King of Rock & Roll”, but as always, we will be focusing on THE KING OF KINGS!!! As we review Acts 16:16-34, we see God’s amazing work which began in a jailhouse, literally rocked the earth, and led a jailer & his household to Salvation in Jesus Christ!

Jailhouse Rock

As we celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday, Brother Royce has prepared a sermon that asks “Where are the Proverbs 31 Women?” These scripture verses certainly challenge ladies to a high standard – but God is faithful to equip any of us with what He calls us to do!

Proverbs 31 Woman

This Sunday (5/14/15), the sermon will focus on The Christian Home as we review Ephesians 5:22 – 6:4. These verses provide great instruction for every role in the family; from wife or husband to parent or child. Please join us in worship & fellowship Sunday at 11am for services in the sanctuary and at 10am for Bible Classes!
